Application Process

 


Step 1. Fill out an application.

 

Multi-Family (income-based)

NEGAHA Rentals (market-rate)

 

  • Applications can be printed from the website, mailed, or picked up at the Administrative Office or any Site Office.     

           *In order to print an application from the website you will need a printer that prints on legal size paper.

  • Gather all required documents.

  • The application must be filled out completely. If any household member requires any accommodations or supportive services please visit a Administrative Office or a Site office. Office hours are listed below.

 

Step 2. Visit an office.

When you have completed your application and have all the required documents and information listed above, please bring them into the Administrative Office or a Site Office for an interview. Allow 1 hour to complete all necessary paperwork!

  • All household members 18 and older MUST accompany you to the interview.

 

NEGAHA will check references, conduct a criminal background and sex-offender registry search, and prior rental history on all adult household members, including live-in-aides, to ensure that the family is eligible for subsidized housing. The Authority will deny admission to any applicant whose habits and practices may be deemed to have a detrimental effect on other tenants or on the community’s environment.

Clarkesville Site Office: 125 Habersham St. – Tuesday 1- 4 PM

Cornelia Site Office: 800 Galloway St. — Thursday 1-4 PM

Homer Site Office: 164 Hill St.– Tuesday 1-2 PM

Cleveland Site Office: 223 Bryant St. – Wednesday 1- 4 PM

Helen Site Office is located @ Helen Library on the 3rd Wednesday 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
